Fruit - Date Balls

1 pkg. chopped dates
1 stick margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup chopped nuts
2-1/2 cups rice crispy type cereal
Powdered sugar

Mix everything except nuts and rice crispies, in saucepan melt, and cook 8 minutes, stirring most of time. Remove from heat, stir in rice crispies, and nuts.

Pour out on wax paper dusted well with powder sugar. Pinch off small amounts form a ball roll in powder sugar.

Makes about 75 1-inch balls.
