Cookies - Formed Cookies Sour Cream Pastries

1 cup margarine
2 cups sifted flour
1 egg yolk
.5 cup sour cream
.5 cups apricot preserves - sieve or chop large pieces of apricot
.5 cup flaked coconut
.25 cup finely chopped pecans

Mix margarine and flour with pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Add egg yolk and sour cream and mix until dough forms a ball. Refrigerate until firm (FREEZE now).

To bake: Divide (defrosted) ball of dough into four pieces.
Roll out each fourth into a circle about 10" in diameter (do this one quarter at a time).

1/2 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 3 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 cup commercial sour cream Sugar Combine shortening, 1 cup sugar, egg, and vanilla; cream until light and fluffy. Combine flour, soda, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in sour cream, mixing well. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Flatten with a fork and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 deg. for 10-12 minutes. Yield: About 5 1/2 dozen

1 cup butter softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups all purpose flour Raisins coarsely chopped Frosting recipe follows: Chocolate Chips Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Stir in flour to blend well. For each snowman, shape dough into 3 balls measuring 1 inch, 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch. Place on ungreased cookie sheet with sides of balls touching and press together gently; space snowmen about 1 inch apart. Insert raisins for eyes (and belly button if desired). Bake 18 minutes; cool on racks. Prepare frosting: Fill pastry
