Casseroles - Beef - Hamburger Pie

1 pound extra lean ground beef
1 (6-ounce) box seasoned croutons, divided
1 (4-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 tablespoon dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten and divided
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 green bell pepper, seeded, deveined and chopped
1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated
1 tomato, sliced


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine beef, 1 cup seasoned croutons, tomato sauce, chili powder, onion, salt and 1 egg. Mix well and press into sides and bottom of a 9-inch pie pan.

In a separate bowl, combine remaining croutons, egg, mushrooms, green pepper and cheese. Mix well and layer on top of beef crust. Arrange tomato slices over pie.

Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Serves 6

1 lb. ground beef 1 small onion, chopped 1 can of drained green beans or whole kernel corn 1 jar of pizza sauce 1 tube of refrigerated crescent rolls 2 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese (or Monterey Jack) 1 beaten egg salt and pepper, to taste Brown meat and onions. Close bag and mix together. Attach tator tots. Freeze together with cooking instructions attached. Unthaw gallon bag, place contents in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Place frozen tots on top of casserole. Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes, until casserole bubbles and tots are browned.
