Candy - Toffee Heath Car Candy

1/2 lb butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup almonds, very finely chopped
1/3 cup chocolate chips


Combine first 3 ingredients and boil, stirring constantly until it thickens and looks like a brown paper bag. Pour on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top. Let melt and spread smooth over the mixture. Let cool and harden. Break into pieces.

1 box thin tea matzah 1 c butter/margarine 1 c light brown sugar 1 c chopped walnuts 1 c chocolate chips Line a greased cookie sheet (with sides) with matzah. In a saucepan, bring butter and sugar to a boil; boil for five minutes, stirring CONSTANTLY. Add nuts. Pour mixture over matzah. Bake for 10 minutes at a 350 oven. While still hot, sprinkle chocolate chips over mixture. As soon as they start to melt, spread with a knife. Refrigerate for 15 minutes. Take out and chop into pieces. Store in airtight container.

1 Pound Unsalted Butter 1 Pound Light Brown Sugar 1 Pound Chocolate Bars -- or chips Pecans -- or English walnuts, enough to cover the bottom of a cookie sheet Butter bottom of cookie sheet well; sprinkle chopped nuts on it. Melt butter and brown sugar together over medium heat (stirring constantly) to 290 degrees. Cook at 290 until it just starts to go above it. Remove from heat and very quickly pour over nuts and spread out. Lay broken pieces of chocolate, or chips, on top and as it melts spread over toffee mixture. Break into pieces when cool.
