Appetizers - Beef - Runza

1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium head of cabbage, shredded
1 (1 lb) loaf of frozen bread dough, or hot roll dough, thawed

Preheat oven to temperature specified on bread dough or hot roll dough.

Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

Brown beef in a skillet.

Remove beef and set aside.

Saute onion in drippings until lightly browned, then drain and reserve.

Discard drippings.

In a bowl, combine beef, onion and cabbage.

Tear off a chunk of bread or hot roll dough and flatten to about size of a small hamburger bun.

Place 1/4 cup beef mixture on top, and cover with another flattened dough ball.

Seal edges with a fork.

Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Repeat until dough and beef mixture is used.

Bake according to bread package directions, until tops are golden brown.

Remove from oven and brush tops with butter.

1 (10 oz) tube refrigerated biscuits1 lb. ground beef1/2 cup ketchup3 tablespoons brown sugar1 tablespoon cider vinegar1/2 teaspoon chili powder1 cup shredded Cheddar cheesePreheat oven to 375° F and grease muffin tin.Separate dough into 10 biscuits, flatten into 5 inch circles. Press each into the bottom and up sides of prepared tin; set aside. In skillet, brown ground beef; drain. In a small bowl, combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar and chili powder; stir till smooth and add to meat, mixing well. Divide meat mixture into biscuit lined cups. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 18-20 minutes.

(2.5 oz.) corned beef, chopped 1/2 cup sauerkraut, drained, squeezed dry and chopped 1/4 cup Thousand Island dressing 1 cup (4 oz.) finely shredded Swiss cheese Preheat oven to 375 F. Unroll crescent dough; separate into 8 rectangles. Press perforations together to seal. Spread about 1 1/2 tsp. dressing evenly onto each rectangle; top with chopped corned beef, sauerkraut, and cheese.
