Sing In Celebration Of Your Race

Sing in celebration of your race,
The anonymous composer of your song,
Passionate provider of your grace,
A host to which you cannot help belong.
Take a day to sing of who you are,
Rejoicing in the choice of what must be,
In gratitude for what, beyond the bar,
Chooses in dark joy one's history.
Know the lineaments of ancient lore
'Ere you feel and act, and know not why.
Stories long forgotten lie in store,
Destined for revision by and by.
All you are and do is not by chance,
Yet you may face your partners as you dance.

Sing Of The Home That You Have Never Seen
Sing of the home that you have never seen,The place your ancestors once called their own!Play the music of that island green,And dance the dances dear to those long gone!Time again to fill their dancing shoes,Reawakening the ghosts within,In touch with some incendiary muse,Channeling the beauty that had been.Knowledge is not merely of the mind:'Tis of the arms and legs, the throat, the heart.Sing, that you not lose your soul to time!Dance, that you might nurture it through art!As all your passions quickly become past,Yet you may give life to things that last.

Recently You Were Just Two Feet High
Recently you were just two feet high,Reaching out with pudgy little arms,Going for the bright blue, brand new sky,Intoxicated with life's purest charms.Once again you enter a world new,Tingling with the innocence of joy;Once again the sky's a brilliant blue,Not far beyond the reach of girl or boy.Do not forget that burning, helpless passion.Child or adult, it lies within.Although you may get lost in work and fashion,Returning home lets you begin again. In you today there is the purest love.Swift though the years, that time shall not remove.
