Vegetables - Pea Salad Oriental Recipes

2 (10 oz.) packages peas, frozen
4 green onions -- sliced diagonally
1 (8 oz.) can waterchestnuts, canned -- sliced
1/4 red bell peppers -- diced
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons sesame seeds -- toasted

Pour boiling water over peas in a strainer.Blend all vegetables in a bowl.

Mix remaining ingredients except sesame seeds and pour over vegetables; toss to mix. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.

2 packages (10 oz.) frozen green peas or 2 cans English peas, drained 1 (8 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts, drained (optional) 1 cup thinly sliced celery 3/4 cup sliced green onions 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon salt (optional) 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, cubed small In a bowl, combine the first four ingredients. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream and salt. Mix well. Add to pea mixture along with cubed cheese; toss well to coat. Chill until serving. Yield: 10-12 servings. Layer ingredients in a 9X13 dish. 1st layer - lettuce-torn in bite size pieces (about 1/2 head) 2nd layer - 1/2 to 3/4 cup mayo (spead over lettuce) 3rd layer 1 tablespoon dried minced onion (or more to taste) sprinkle over mayo 4th layer - 1 teaspoon seasoned salt 5th layer - 1/2 teaspoon pepper 6th layer - 1 pound frozen green peas, cooked and cooled 7th layer - grated cheddar cheese Cover and refrigerate over night. 8th layer - before serving sprinkle bacon bits over top.
