Vegetables - Bean, Bacon And Potato Soup

6 slices bacon
3 tablespoons flour
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
1 onion -- chopped
3 cups fresh or frozen chopped green beans
2 quarts water
2 cups pared diced potatoes
Few sprigs of chopped dill
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup or more sour cream
2 tablespoons flour

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove and leave about 3 tbsp. fat in cooking pot. Saute the onions and peppers until onions are golden. Stir in 3 tbsp. flour and cook until slightly browned.

Add all remaining ingredients except sour cream and 2 tbsp. of flour. Bring to a boil; lower heat to simmer, cover and cook 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Mix together flour and sour cream. Add a little of the hot broth and mix well. Stir into simmering soup along with crumbled bacon. Simmer a few minutes, but do not boil. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

3 cans green beans 8 strips bacon, chopped 3 medium onions, chopped 1 c. sour cream 1/4 c. cider vinegar 1 tsp. flour 1/2 tsp. flour Fry bacon and onions. Drain off all but 2 tablespoons of bacon grease. Add flour, vinegar and sugar. Carefully stir in green beans, drained. Add sour cream.

1 lb. fresh green beans, or 2 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen green beans, cooked 2 cups (1 lb. can) tomatoes 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/4 cup chopped green pepper 1/2 tsp. onion salt Cook green beans until tender. Combine green beans, tomatoes, celery, green pepper, onion and salt, if using, and cook over medium heat about 15 minutes or until heated through.
