Vegetables - Asparagus - Asparagus Rolls By Cissy

1 can asparagus (no size indicated)*
1 loaf of sliced white bread
8 oz. Roquefort cheese
8 oz. cream cheese
1 Tbsp. mayonnaise
1 egg, beaten
melted butter

Cut all ends from bread slices. Flatten bread with a rolling pin.

In a bowl, combine cheeses, mayonnaise and egg. Spread egg mixture on top of bread slices. Top each bread slice with one stalk of asparagus and roll up. Cut rolls into thirds.

Using a pastry brush, coat rollups with melted butter. Rollups can be frozen at this point. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 and bake for about 15 minutes, or until well browned.

The recipe notes, "There is enough cheese mixture for 2 cans of asparagus and 2 loaves of bread."

12 slices high quality white bread, crusts removed1( 8oz.) container of chive whipped cream cheese8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled24 fresh asparagus, partially cooked3 Tbl. butter, meltedParmesan CheesePreheat oven to 400° F. Using rolling pin to flatten each slice of bread. Combine cream cheese and bacon: stir well. Spread bread with cheese mixture, covering edges. Place two asparagus spears on each side of bread; roll up and place seam side down on greased cookie sheet. Cover and refrigerate 4-6 hours, if desired. 20 slices sandwich bread 1 can asparagus spears 8 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature 3 oz. Blue cheese 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce 3/4 cup melted butter Remove crusts from bread. Roll out flat with a rolling pin. Mix cheeses and Worcestershire sauce together till well blended. Spread on flattened bread slices. Drain asparagus on paper towels. Roll up 1 spear in each slice of bread, seam side down. Brush with melted butter. Freeze, cut, thaw and bake at 350 until brown, about 15 minutes.
