Soups - Curried Tomato Soup

24 ounces more or less peeled, cut up tomatoes
1 1/2 Tbl. butter
2 Tbl. flour
1/2 tsp. curry - or more
2 cups milk
1 Tbl. brown sugar
seasoned salt


Puree tomatoes in blender and strain to remove seeds. Heat to boiling.

In another pan melt butter, stir in flour and curry - cook gently a moment. Gradually stir in milk off heat. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened and boiling.

In heavy 3-5 qt. kettle, cook vegetables and garlic in olive oil, with salt and pepper to taste, over low heat, stirring, til vegetables are tender, but not brown, about 10 minutes. Add wine and boil 3 minutes. Add tomatoes, oregano and 1 c.
