Soups - Beef - Tamale Soup

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 (14.25 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
2 (16 oz.) cans pinto beans, undrained
1 (15 oz.) can creamed corn
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed beef broth, undiluted
2 (15 oz.) cans tamales, drained and cut into 1-inch pieces


Cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a Dutch oven until ground beef is browned, stirring until meat crumbles. Add stewed tomatoes and next 3 ingredients and simmer mixture 1 hour. Stir in tamale pieces, and serve immediately.

Yield: 12 cups.

Hidden Valley Ranch® DRESSING dry mix 1 (15 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, original style (undrained)* 1 (15 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, Mexican style (undrained)* 1 (15 oz.) can corn (undrained)* 1 (15 oz.) can pinto beans (undrained)* 1 (15 oz.) can ranch beans (undrained)* In large saucepan, brown meat with onion, taco seasoning mix, and ranch dressing mix. When beef is browned, add remaining undrained ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover, and let simmer an hour, stirring occasionally.
