Snacks - Marshmallow Popcorn Balls

6 TBL. Butter or margarine
3 cups Miniature marshmallows
1/2 of a 3 oz. pkg. Raspberry flavored gelatin (3 TBS.)
3 quarts Unsalted popcorn


In medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Add marshmallows; stir until melted. Blend in dry ingredients, mixing well.

With buttered hands, form into balls.

Makes 12 medium popcorn balls.

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine 1 (10-oz.) package marshmallows (40 large) 6-8 cups popped popcorn (food coloring, if desired) Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. (Add food coloring.) Add popcorn. Stir until well coated. Butter hands. Form popcorn into balls and place on cookie sheet (buttered, greased, or Pam sprayed) to harden. Note: this is basically the goop from Rice Krispies bars applied to popcorn. The balls taste really good and won't break your teeth.

1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels 1/4 cup white sugar 4 tablespoons vegetable oil Place the popcorn and sugar in a large pot with 4 tablespoons vegetable oil. Over a medium heat, begin to pop the popcorn. Constantly shake the pot to ensure that the popcorn kernels and oil do not burn. Once the popping has slowed, remove the pot from heat. Makes 10 cups
