Snacks - Gorp Trail Mix Recipes

1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1 cup shelled peanuts
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup honey
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
1 cup M&M's
1 cup chopped mixed dried fruit
1/2 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

In bowl, combine oats, peanuts, coconut and wheat germ.

Combine honey and oil and stir into oat mixture. Spread out in a 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake in 300 degrees oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until light brown, stirring every 10 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer to another greased pan; cool without stirring.

Break into large pieces. Stir in candies, fruit and raisins. Store in tightly covered containers.


1 1/4 cups raisins
3 1/2 oz. sunflower seeds
7 oz. roasted peanuts
1/2 cup coconut flakes

Mix and store in an airtight container.

3 Cups Quaker® Corn Bran Cereal (if you can't find it, use Corn Chex® 1 Cup Quaker Oats (quick or old-fashioned, uncooked) 1 Cup Coarsely Chopped Nuts 1 tsp. Cinnamon 1/4 tsp. Salt 1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine 1/3 Cup Honey 1/4 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar 1/2 Cup Raisins Heat oven to 325 F. In large bowl, combine cereal, oats, nuts, cinnamon and salt. In small saucepan, combine butter, honey and brown sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until butter is melted and ingredients are well blended. Pour over cereal mixture; mix until thoroughly coated. Spread evenly into 15x10-inch

3 cups pretzel sticks 4 cups wheat Chex 4 cups Cheerios 1 can (13 oz.) salted peanuts 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt 1 tsp. celery salt 1 tsp. garlic salt 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese 1/4 cup melted butter Mix together pretzels, cereals, and peanuts in large mixing bowl or slow cooking pot. Sprinkle with garlic salt, celery salt, seasoned salt and cheese. Pour melted butter over all. Toss until well mixed. Cover and cook in crockpot on low 3 to 4 hours. Uncover the last 30 to 40 minutes. Makes 3 quarts.
