Salads And Dressings - Vegetable - Linda's Oriental Salad

1 head shredded cabbage
4-5 scallions sliced
2 packages oriental Top-Ramen noodles
1 package of oriental seasoning mix (from Ramen noodle package)
1 cup slivered almonds
garlic salt to taste
2 Tbl. oil or butter
1 (8 oz.) bottle of Mandarian-sesame fat free dressing -or 8 oz. of any type oriental style dressing


Preheat oven to 250.

Crush Ramen noodles, spread on Pam sprayed baking sheet. Add almonds, sprinkle a little garlic salt, and one package of the oriental seasoning spices (that come with the Ramen noodles). Drizzle the oil over mixture and bake checking every couple of minutes until toasted. When toasted, cool and put into a container-until right before you are ready to eat salad.

Shred lettuce, set aside. Slice scallions toss with cabbage, put in fridge.

Just before eating, toss greens, noodle-almond mix and dressing.

1 lb. fresh asparagus 1 red pepper, julienned 1 bunch green onions Wash asparagus and cut into 4 to 5 inch spears. You want the woody parts too. Clean and cut red pepper into thin strips. 3/4 head lettuce, shreddedSalt and pepper, to taste 1 large egg 2 TBS. sugar 3 TBS. vinegar MilkIn a large bowl, combine lettuce and salt and pepper to taste.In saucepan, stir together egg, sugar and vinegar. Cook and stir over low to medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and cool. When cooled, thin with a little milk, stir and pour over shredded lettuce. Chill about an hour.
