Salads And Dressings - Layered Salad

1 head lettuce, torn (or any lettuce you prefer)
1 cup celery, diced
4 hard boiled eggs, diced
1 package frozen peas, thawed and uncooked
1/2 cup red pepper, diced
1 cup onion, diced
8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled


Layer all of these ingredients in order given. Top with these three ingredients that have been combined well:

2 cups Miracle Whip
2 Tbs. sugar
1 Tbs. lemon juice

Then sprinkle with 4 oz. grated cheddar

Layer lettuce, bacon, and tomato in a 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly over tomato, sealing to edge of dish. Cover and chill salad at least 2 hours. Sprinkle with croutons, and serve
