Poultry - Turkey - Turkey Legs With Mushroom Gravy

4 turkey legs (about 12 oz. each)
1/4 c. lemon juice
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mushroom Gravy:
1 c. water
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained
1 can (10 1/2 oz.) mushroom gravy 1 tsp. minced onion
1 tbsp. minced fresh parsley
1 tsp. garlic powder


Place turkey legs in a roasting pan. In a small bowl, combine lemon juice, oil and seasonings. Pour over turkey legs. Bake uncovered, at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Turn legs twice and baste occasionally. Remove from the oven.

For the gravy, combine water and cornstarch in a saucepan. Stir in remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium heat. Spoon over turkey legs. Cover loosely with foil. Bake basting frequently, for 1 hour or until legs are tender.

1 clove crushed garlic 3 Tablespoons orange juice (I use pineapple/OJ) 3 Tablespoons soy sauce 1 Tablespoon honey 2 Tablespoons finely chopped green onion 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/2 teaspoon black pepper dash of cayenne if desired 1 lb raw Turkey (ground, breast meat, tenderloins) Combine ingredients. Let stand for 1 hour. (If using ground turkey, form into burgers & squeeze extra marinade out.) Grill, baste and serve. Discard leftover marinade.

4 turkey legs (about 12 oz. each) 3 c. water 1/2 c. vinegar 2 tbsp. BBQ sauce (McCormick or Schilling) In 9 inch square baking pan, mix water, vinegar and spice. Marinate turkey legs in mixture for 4 to 6 hours turning frequently. Pour off half of the marinade. Shake on additional BBQ spice as if it were salt. Bake turkey legs in covered baking pan in a 350 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes basting with marinade every 15 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare charcoal grill. When legs have completed baking time, place on grill and brown them.
