Poultry - Turkey Sandwich - Turkey Burgers Italiano
1 lb ground turkey -- lean pref.2 tbsp freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp Napa Style Roasted Garlic Rub -- * see note
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs -- unseasoned
1 tsp sea salt
Toppings:
pesto sauce
smoked mozzarella cheese -- sliced thinly
6 slices sandwich bread -- ** see note
In a large mixing bowl, combine turkey, Parmesan cheese, rub, bread crumbs and
salt. With hands, mix well. Break into 6 pieces and form into 6 burgers.
Preheat George Foreman Grill. When hot, spray with olive oil spray and place burgers on grill. Spray tops of burgers and then close and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Remove and top with a slather of pesto sauce and a slice or two of cheese.
Place bread slices on grill, spray with cooking spray, and then close and cook for 1 minute until lightly browned. Remove and place burger on bread. Top with one slice bread and squish down a bit. Place burgers, on bread, in grill and close for 30 seconds or so, this will melt the cheese a bit better.
Remove and serve with french fries, with pesto dipping sauce (pesto mixed with a bit of ketchup).
