Pies - Miscellaneous - Angel Food Pie
Baked Pie Shell (or can be graham cracker)4 1/2 Tbsp. Cornstarch
3/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1/2 tsp salt
3 egg whites
3 Tbsp. Sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup cream, whipped & sweetened or approx. 4 oz. Whipped topping
Semi-sweet chocolate, curled or grated
Beat egg whites and salt until stiff. Add 3 Tbsp. Sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy.
In a 1 qt. Glass measure heat water in micro-wave, 2 minutes. Blend together cornstarch and 3/4 cup sugar; gradually stir into hot water. Heat in micro-wave another 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until thickened. Pour slowly over egg whites, beating as you pour. Cool slightly; then fill crust. Chill at least 2 hours.
Cover with whipped cream, then sprinkle with chocolate and nuts.

COOL WHIP Non-Dairy Whipped Topping, thawed 1 baked 9-inch graham cracker crumb crust, cooled (or you can use one of the already made ones from Keebler etc.) Dissolver gelatin completely in boiling water, stirring 3 minutes. Add ice cubes and stir constantly until gelatin is thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Remove any unmelted ice. Using wire ship, blend in whipped topping; then whip until smooth. Chill, if necessary, until mixture will mound. Spoon into pie crust. Chill 2 hours or freeze until firm.
