Italian - Ziti With Tomato-pesto Sauce

3/4 lb ziti pasta -- dried pasta
boiling water
salt
2 tbsp pesto sauce -- fresh or prepared
1 jar tomato-basil sauce
salt -- to taste
parmesan cheese -- to pass around


Put up a pot of water to boil. When it comes to a boil, add salt and pasta. Cook according to package directions. When al dente, drain well.

While pasta is cooking, whisk together the pesto and tomato sauces. Either microwave for 1 minute on High or place in a small saucepan and heat until simmering. Add a pinch of salt and mix in. Taste and adjust seasoning.

When pasta is ready, pour into large serving bowl. Cover with sauce. Serve. Pass Parmesan cheese.

Serve with breadsticks.
