Fruit - Mountain Baked Apples

6 Golden or Red Delicious apples
1 lb. pkg. bacon
brown sugar


Cut each apple into eight equal pieces. Cut bacon in half. Liberally sprinkle or roll each slice in brown sugar, then wrap half bacon slices around each apple slice, tucking the ends beneath.

Place in baking pan and then in oven preheated to 375 degrees until apples are tender, about 15 minutes

8 cups unpasteurized apple cider 1 (3-inch) cinnamon stick 10 whole cloves 1 navel orange, peeled and sliced crosswise A 2-inch piece of peeled fresh ginger, cut into 6 slices In a large saucepan combine cider, cinnamon stick, cloves, orange and ginger and simmer mixture for 20 minutes. 8 apples, peeled -- cored and sliced 1/4 cup water 2 teaspoons cinnamon dash nutmeg 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 cup flour 6 tablespoons butter Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.Arrange sliced apples in 8 x 8 x 2 square baking dish.
