Fruit - Mom's Apple Crisp

8 apples, peeled -- cored and sliced
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons cinnamon
dash nutmeg
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
6 tablespoons butter

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Arrange sliced apples in 8 x 8 x 2 square baking dish. Add water, cinnamon and nutmeg and toss until coated.

Make crumb mixture: In medium bowl add flour, sugar and cut in butter (like preparing pie crust) until butter pieces are pea size. Sprinkle crumb mixture over apples. Bake uncovered at 425F for 30 to 40 minutes or until crumb mixture is brown.

Note: This may be doubled this recipe successfully by using 13 x 9 pryex dish.

6 Golden or Red Delicious apples 1 lb. pkg. bacon brown sugar Cut each apple into eight equal pieces. Cut bacon in half. Liberally sprinkle or roll each slice in brown sugar, then wrap half bacon slices around each apple slice, tucking the ends beneath. 4 large Granny Smith apples 2 Tbsp. water or apple juice, pineapple juice or white wine1/4 cup brown sugar (do not pack)1/4 tsp. cinnamonPinch of allspicePeel and core apples and cut into sixths.Combine liquid, sugar and spices. Place apples in an 8x8" micowavable glass dish and pour liquid over apples.Cover with plastic wrap; piercing 6 times with a fork.Cook on high for 3 minutes; stir.Cook 3 minutes more; let stand 1 minute. Mash to desired consistency with a fork.Makes 2-1/4 cups.Serve at desired temperature.
