Fruit - Date Roll

1 pound dates
1 pound walnuts
1 pound graham crackers
1/2 pound marshmallows
half & half heavy cream


Grind all ingredients, except cream, with coarse knife of food grinder. Dampen with enough cream to knead into 2 inch rolls. Wrap rolls in plastic or wax paper. Chill in refrigerator overnite. Slice and serve with whipped cream, garnished with maraschino cherry.

This roll with keep for several days if kept chilled

1 cup brown sugar 1 cup water 1 tablespoon oleo Mix Batter: 1 cup chopped dates 1 cup white sugar 1 cup boiling water 1/2 cup nuts 1 tsp. Baking soda 1 tsp.baking powder 2 tablespoon oleo 1 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp. Cinnamon Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil and then pour in a 9 by 13 rectangle baking pan and set aside. Preheat oven to 350° F.Pour the batter into the liquid in the pan and then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
