Fruit - Cold Cherry Soup

2 cans (about 14 oz. each) of sour cherries
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup red wine
1 cup cream
2 tablespoon flour


Combine the cherries, their juice, the cinnamon, the sugar, and the wine in a saucepan. Heat but do not boil. Mix the flour and milk. Strain into the hot cherries. Cook until thickened. Chill.

Maraschino cherries (save juice) 1 cup shortening 2/3 cup sugar 1 egg 2 1/2 cup flour 3/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla powdered sugar coconut Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.Cream together shortening, sugar and egg. Add dry ingredients and vanilla. Wrap about 1 teaspoon dough around cherry until covered. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes until light brown. Glaze: Powdered sugar and cherry juice to make thin icing. Dip top of hot cookies in icing then in coconut. Makes 80 to 90 cookies.

1 (3-1/2 oz.) pkg. instant coconut cream pudding mix 1 pint sour cream 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1/4 cup sugar 2 tsp. almond extract 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling 3-1/2 oz. shredded coconut whipped cream (for garnish; optional) Combine pudding, sour cream and cream cheese; whip until smooth. Slowly add the sugar and extracts. Spoon into 8 (6 ounce) parfait glasses until almost 1/2 full. Spoon in a layer of cherry pie filling, reserving 8 cherries for garnish. Spoon remaining pudding mixture onto cherry layer. Surround rim
