Fruit - Cherry - Old Fashioned Cherry Cobbler
1 c. sugar1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
Topping:
1 qt. fresh cherries
1 pt. boiling water
1 c. brown sugar
Cream sugar, shortening and salt. Add milk, vanilla, flour and baking powder. Pour batter into large buttered dish.
Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
