Fruit - Apple Spice Syrup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar2 T. cornstarch
1/4 t. ground allspice
1/8 t. ground nutmeg
1-3/4 cups apple juice or cider
In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, allspice and nutmeg; mix well. Add juice or cider. Cook and stir over medium heat until syrup is bubbly and slightly thickened.
Yield: 1-3/4 cups

1 package spice cake mix (18-1/4 oz.) 1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling 2 eggs 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Beat on medium speed for a bout 2 minutes. Pour into a greased 13x9 baking dish. Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Yield: 15 servings.
