Fruit - Apple - Leonard Larson's Apple Stew

1/2 head cabbage
1/2 head cauliflower
1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
1 can stewed tomatoes or fresh
4 green apples -- Granny Smith's
salt, pepper and garlic to taste
3 cubes beef bouillon
2 onions


Cut up cabbage and cauliflower. Put water in stew pot. Add all ingredients and seasonings, except apples. Cook until 1/2 done or more. Then add quartered apples. Don't let apples get too done.

8-10 each Maine apples of any cooking variety 4 each sticks of cinnamon, 3 long To taste sugar or Maine maple syrup As needed water Wash the apples, peel and cut into thick slices or chunks. Place in saucepan, add the cinnamon sticks, and then almost cover with cold water. Cook over low to medium heat, stir occasionally to prevent sticking. Cook until soft. 1 pkg. lemon Jello 1 c. hot water 2/3 c. mayonnaise 1/8 tsp. salt 1 c. diced celery 1 1/2 c. diced apples 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans 1 c. thawed Cool Whip Dissolve Jello in hot water. Chill until thick and syrupy. Blend mayonnaise and jello until smooth. Add apples, celery and nuts. Fold in Cool Whip. Chill until firm.
