Drinks - Spiked Southern Iced Tea Punch

1 orange
20 whole cloves
4 very large, fresh mint sprigs
2 Lipton or other black tea bags
3 cups boiling water
1 cup ice water
1 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup Jack Daniel's whiskey or bourbon (see note)
Ice cubes


Stud orange with the whole cloves, then cut orange into 3 slices. Place in heatproof pitcher or bowl along with mint sprigs and tea bags. Add boiling water; let steep 10 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add ice water and orange, lemon and pineapple juices. Stir in brown sugar. Chill.

When ready to serve, stir in whiskey. Serve in glasses filled with ice.

Yield: 7 cups.

Note: For more spiked version, let guests add a little more bourbon to each individual drink.

4 tea bags 1 cup sugar -- (1 to 2) 1 can frozen orange juice -- (12 oz.) 1 can frozen lemonade -- (12 oz.) 2 cups either vodka, gin, rum, or bourbon, or tequila 9 cups water -- divided Steep tea bags in 2 cups boiling water fro 20 minutes. 24 ounces frozen lemonade concentrate 12 ounces frozen orange juice concentrate 14 cups water 1 cup grenadine syrup 1 liter citron flavored vodka or regular vodka 1 cup sugar 2 tablespoons instant ice tea mix with lemon 7 Up Mix all ingredients except 7 Up together. Freeze in a two gallon container. To serve fill glass 2/3 full of slush and add chilled 7 Up or Fresca to fill glass.
