4 big juicy lemons or limes at room temperature
3/4 cup sugar, more or less to taste
4 cups water


Juice the lemons or limes, mix with sugar and water.

2 (16 ounce) bottles low-cal lemon-lime carbonated beverage 1 (6-ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate, thawed Mint sprigs if you want Pour carbaonated beverage into freezer tray or shallow pan; freeze firm. Break into chunks and crush. Pour thawed limeade concentrate into blender container; add frozen crushed beverage 1 cup at a time, blending well after each addition. Stop blender several times and push down with a rubber spatula. Spoon into glasses. Garnish with mint Makes 8 servings

2 cups sugar 4 cups water 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about six medium lemons) In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and two cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Simmer five minutes. Cool to room temperature; refrigerate syrup until chilled. In a pitcher, mix remaining two cups water, the lemon juice and chilled syrup (stir in additional water if desired). Serve in tall glasses over ice. Garnish with lemon slices, or a twist of the lemon peel, if desired. Serves six.
