Dips - Creamy Garlic Dressing/dip

1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup mayonnaise/salad dressing
12 ounces sour cream
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/4 teaspoon Pepper


In a small saucepan, combine vinegar, water, onion and garlic; simmer until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Add sugar; simmer until dissolved. Cool to room temperature.

Stir in mayonnaise, sour cream, salt and pepper. Pour over salad and serve.

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1 (8 oz) block low-fat cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup toffee bits -- such as Skor or Heath (about 4 oz.) Apples cored and cut into wedges, approximately 12 -- Granny Smith, red and/or golden Delicious 1 cup pineapple juice, optional Combine first 4 ingredients in a bowl; beat at medium speed of a mixer until smooth. Add toffee bits and mix well. Cover and chill. (Make ahead to allow toffee bits to soften.) Combine apples and pineapple juice in a bowl; toss well. Drain apples. Serve
