Desserts - Pudding - Steamed Pudding

3 Tbsp. butter
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup milk
1 2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup raisins

Sift flour, salt, soda and spices together. Add other ingredients. Pour into individual cups and steam over boiling water for 20 minutes. If no other rack for holding cups is available, place cups in deep-fat frying basket and suspend over water. This recipe has had 30 years use and is a favorite with men.

Mix thoroughly. Add boiling water to make thick syrup.

4 c Fruit of your choice2 c Sugar 1 t Lemon juice 1 tb Butter 2 c Flour 4 ts Baking powder 1 t Salt 3/4 c Milk Sift flour, baking powder and salt together, and work in butter. Add milk and mix thoroughly. Combine sugar, fruit and lemon juice. Mix with first batter. Pour into a buttered mold, cover tightly and steam for 45 minutes. Serve with cream.
