4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
5 Tablespoons melted shortening
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs

Beat the eggs. Add the sugar slowly to the eggs, beating constantly. Stir in the milk and the melted shortening.

In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Roll the dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 2 inch doughnut cutter.

Fry the doughnuts in hot oil at 370 F.- 375 F. Brown the doughnuts on both sides. Drain the doughnuts on paper towels. Roll the doughnuts in cinnamon sugar. Makes about 3 dozen doughnuts.

Sift the flour with baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and pinch of salt; add alternately with orange juice and evaporated milk, stirred together. Add the grated orange peel. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls in hot oil (350 F.). Fry until brown and done. Drain on paper towels and
