1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate -- thawed
3/4 cup evaporated milk
2 tablespoons grated orange peel
confectioner's sugar

Cream the shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Sift the flour with baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and pinch of salt; add alternately with orange juice and evaporated milk, stirred together. Add the grated orange peel.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls in hot oil (350 F.). Fry until brown and done. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with confectioner's sugar.

Add the sugar slowly to the eggs, beating constantly. Stir in the milk and the melted shortening. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Roll the dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut with 2 inch doughnut cutter. Fry the doughnuts in hot oil at 370 F.- 375 F. Brown the doughnuts on both sides. Drain
