Desserts - Date Pudding

1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oleo

1 cup chopped dates
1 cup white sugar
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup nuts
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp.baking powder
2 tablespoon oleo
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil and then pour in a 9 by 13 rectangle baking pan and set aside.

Mix batter ingredients.Pour the batter into the liquid in the pan and then bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or cool whip.
