1/2 cup strawberry-flavored cream cheese
2 tablespoons sliced almonds, chopped and toasted
8 slices angel food cake, 1/2-inch thick
Fruit of choice such as kiwi slices, strawberries, orange slices, peach slices, etc., optional

Combine cream cheese and almonds. Spread thinly on one side of each cake slice. Top four slices cake, cream cheese side, with fruit, if desired. Top with remaining cake slices, cream cheese side down.
