Crock_pot - Ham And Potato Chowder

5 oz. pkg. dry scalloped potatoes
1 ham bone
1 cup coarsely chopped ham
4-1/2 to 5 cups chicken broth
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 carrots, shredded or chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix together in a 3 1/2 to 4 quart crockpot or slow cooker.Cover and cook on "low" for 7 hours.

In separate bowl mix together real well: 2 cups skim milk or regular milk or half & half and1/3 cup all purpose flour.
Gradually stir this into crockpot, blending well. Cover and continue to cook on "low" for 1 hour, stirring occasionally - mixture will have thickened a bit and vegetables will be tender.

1 (16-ounce) can diced tomatoes 1 1/2 cups diced cooked chicken 1/2 cup sliced carrots 1/2 cup sliced celery 1 (3-ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained 3 tsp. instant chicken bouillon granules 1 bay leaf 1/4 tsp. dried thyme, crushed 5 cups water 1 cup cooked medium noodles In crockpot combine undrained tomatoes, chicken, carrot, celery, mushrooms, bouillon, bay leaf, and thyme. Stir in water. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6-8 hours. Turn to high-heat setting; stir in cooked noodles. Cover; heat through, about 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Serves 5-6

1 pound navy beans 2 ham hocks 8 ounces bacon, cooked, drained and torn into bite-sized pieces 1-1/2 cups finely chopped onion (about 1 medium-sized onion) 2 cloves garlic, finely minced 1 large stalk celery, thinly sliced 1 cup half-and-half 5 cups water Salt and black pepper, to taste Combine ingredients in a large crock pot, cover and cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hours. If mixture seems too thick, add small amounts of water during last hour of cooking, as desired. Yield: 6 to 8 generous servings.
