Cookies - Toll House Pan Cookies

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups (12 oz) semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts, optional


Preheat oven to 375.

Combine dry ingredients in a small bowl and mix. In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugars and vanilla tgoether until creamy. Beat in eggs. Add dry ingredients gradually. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Spread on a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch baking pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely and cut into squares. Makes about 35 squares.
