Cookies - Pressed Cookies Cookie Press Cookies

1 cup butter flavored crisco or 1/2 C butter and 1/2 C vegetable shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream tartar
2 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs and blend well. Sift together flour cream of tartar and soda. Add flour mixture gradually to creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Chill dough if you are going to roll or fill cookie press and press cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 375 F for 8-10 minutes until bottoms are golden. Let them rest on the cookie sheet for a minute or so before removing them to a cooling rack. Yield: 5 dozen
