Cookies - Formed Cookies Holiday Lime Coolers

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tbs grated lime peel
1/2 tsp vanilla
Granulated sugar
Lime glaze (recipe below)
1 tube green decorating gel if desired

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Beat butter and powdered sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon.

Stir in cornstarch, lime peel and vanilla until well blended.

Shape dough into 1-inch balls.

Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Press bottom of glass into dough to grease, then dip into granulated sugar; press on shaped dough until 1/4 inch thick.

Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are light brown.

Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Cool completely.

Brush lime glaze over cookies.

Squeeze drops of decorating gel on glazed cookies, drag toothpick though gel for marbled design.

Lime Glaze;
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoon grated lime peel
4 tsp key lime or regular lime juice

Mix all ingredients together until smooth.

1 pound butter (no substitutes) 1 pint vanilla ice cream. (soft) 4 cups all purpose flour, don't sift Apricot, strawberry and/or blackberry preserves Preheat oven to 350° F.Soften butter and ice cream; cream together until creamy and smooth. Gradually add flour until all is used; dough will be stiff. Spray cookie sheet lightly. Pinch off small ball of dough , about the size of a quarter.
