Cookies - Drop Cookies Oatmeal Cookies

1 Cup butter
1 Cup margarine
2 Cups sugar
1 egg
2 Cups plain flour (sift)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 Cups quick oats


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream together the butter, margarine and sugar. Add remaining ingredients.

Drop by 1/2 tsp. on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in cold water. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Roll in powdered sugar after baking.

These cookies freeze well. Yield: Several dozen cookies

Beat well. Add dry ingredients, saving oatmeal until last. Drop by teaspoon and flatten with a floured fork. Bake at 350 for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 7 dozen

3/4 c milk2 tsp vinegar 1 tsp soda. 1/2 c Crisco1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 c flour1 tsp salt 1 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp cinnamon 2 cups quick oats1 cup raisins1 cup coarsely chopped walnutsCombine milk, vinegar and soda, let sour and set aside. Cream together Crisco and sugar. Add eggs, mixing well. Sift together flour, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.Add dry ingredients alternately with shortening-egg mixture and the milk. Mix in oats, raisins andcoarsely chopped walnuts. Bake on greased cookie sheet 350 - 375 oven 10- 13 minutes.
