Cookies - Chocolate Walnut Bars

1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
3 eggs
1 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup granulated sugar
5 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 squares Semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix flour and brown sugar in small bowl. Cut in 3/4 cup margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press onto bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

Beat eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, melted margarine and vanilla in small bowl until well blended. Pour over crust. Sprinkle with chocolate and walnuts. Bake 30 minutes or until filling is set. Cool in pan. Cut into bars.

Makes 3 dozen.
