Candy - Pecan Pralines

Pecan Pralines

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup water
2 cups pecan halves
1/4 cup butter
1 Tbl vanilla

Heat sugar, corn syrup. water, and pecans in a heavy saucepan until sugar is dissolved. Bring mixture to boil, stirring occasionally, until it reaches soft ball stage (240*F). Remove saucepan from heat and add butter and vanilla.

Allow candy to cool. Whip until mixture gradually changes to an opaque color and becomes creamy. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a buttered cookie sheetand allow to harden. Makes two dozen.

1/2 cup peanut butter 2 cups Reindeer Treats (recipe below) raisins pretzels Stir Reindeer Treats with peanut butter. Mix well. Place the mixture in the fridge for 15 minutes, so the ingredients will cool and harden a bit. While waiting, cut apart the pretzels. Each pretzel makes two reindeer antlers. Don't worry if you break a few...it takes a little practice! Remove the mixture from the fridge. Shape a spoonful into a ball to look like a reindeers head. Place raisins for eyes and nose. Push the "antlers" into the top of the head. Reindeer Treats: 1 cup raw quick oats;

Candy - Praline Crackers
1 package (not box) of honey graham crackers 1 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed 1 cup pecans, finely chopped Preheat oven to 425 °F. Break apart graham crackers and place side by side on a baking sheet with slightly raised sides.Combine butter, brown sugar, and pecans. Bring to a boil, then pour over crackers. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and let stand for a minute. Then move crackers to a sheet of waxed paper. When cool, break apart and enjoy. Refrigerate leftovers. SOURCE: Knitlist Gifts 1995--Recipes
