Candy - Birds Nest - Birds' Nest By Liz

12 oz. package semisweet chocolate chips(or butterscotch chips)
1 cup chunky style peanut butter
4 cups chow mein noodles
peanuts or jelly beans (optional)


Melt the chocolate chips with the peanut butter. Stir in chow mein noodles until well coated. Drop onto waxed paper and press with spoon to form a nest. Add peanuts or jelly beans for bird's eggs. Cool.

2 boxes powdered sugar 2 sticks butter or margarine, melted 1 small jar maraschino cherries, drained and chopped 1 can condensed milk (not evaporated) 1-1/2 cups chopped nuts 1 small can flaked coconut 2 pounds chocolate bark Mix all ingredients but the chocolate bark. Roll into 1-1/2 inch balls. Refrigerate about 2 hours (until well chilled and firm). Melt chocolate bark in microwave or double boiler. Dip the balls letting excess chocolate drip and place on waxed paper to harden. If desired, swirl a little chocolate on top of each bon bon with tip of fork for a nice touch. TIP:

JELLY BEAN NESTS 2 cups miniature marshmallows l/4 cup butter l(6-ounce) package chow mein noodles (4 cups) Jelly beans In a 2 quart saucepan combine marshmallows and butter; cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until melted (6 to 8 minutes). Stir in noodles until very well coated. With buttered fingers, press mixture on bottom and up sides of each cup of buttered l2-cup muffin pan. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or until firm. Remove from pan and fill with jelly beans.
