1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cream tartar
1 egg white
1/2 cup boiling water
speck of salt
seasoning of choice - such as vanilla, lemon, orange, etc.


Beat all together with electric beater until firm-soft. Spread between and on top of cake.

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup whole milk 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup Crisco 1/2 cup butter, softened 1 tsp. vanilla extract In a small saucepan, cook flour and milk over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and begins to boil.
