Cakesandfrostings - Cupcakes Topsy-turvey Cupcakes

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1/3 cup sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup water
1/3 cup oil
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine cream cheese, egg, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/8 tsp. salt in small bowl, beating until well blended. Stir in chips.

Mix flour with 1 cup sugar, the cocoa, soda and 1/2 tsp. salt in large mixer bowl. Add remaining ingredients and beat at medium speed of electric mixer for 2 minutes.

Fill 18 paper baking cups set in muffin pans half full with batter. Top each with 1 tablespoon of cheese mixtue.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
