Cakesandfrostings - Cake Poppy Seed Babovka

1/4 cup butter
1 3/4 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 pound ground poppy seeds
1/2 cup milk
1 cup mashed potatoes
1/2 cup walnuts


Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add milk alternately with the dry ingredients, then add vanilla, potatoes, poppy seeds and nuts. Beat well after each addition. Put in a greased angel food cake pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour
