Cakesandfrostings - Cake Hot Fudge Cake

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 cup oil
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup buttermilk


Preheat to 400. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.

Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl. In a saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, oil and water. Heat to boiling. Pour over flour and sugar mixture. Mix well. Add eggs, baking soda, cinnamon and buttermilk. Mix well.
Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes.

After the cake has baked for 20 minutes, prepare frosting.


Hot Fudge Cake Frosting:
1/2 cup butter
6 tbsp. milk
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 1/3 cups powdered sugar, approximately
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup pecans, optional


Mix the butter, milk and cocoa in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. Spread on cake while hot.
