Cakesandfrostings - Cake Funny Cake

2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells

For the filling:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup water

For the cake:
1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder

Line two 9-inch pie pans with pastry; set aside.

In a heavy saucepan, combine filling ingredients. Bring to a boil; set aside to cool.

Prepare cake: Cream the butter and sugar, add eggs, milk, vanilla, flour and baking powder and mix well. Divide batter between the two pie pans.

Pour the chocolate filling over the batter in each pan. Spread filling to cover batter. Bake at 375 degrees for about 40 minutes or until tester inserted comes out clean.
