Breakfastandbrunches - Waffles Cornmeal

Dry Ingredients:
1 c All-purpose flour
1 c Yellow corn meal
2 tb Sugar
3 ts Baking powder
1 t Salt

Wet Ingredients:
1 1/2 To 1 3/4 cups milk
2 Eggs (separated)
6 tb Liquid shortening (oil)

Mix and sift dry ingredients.

Add egg yolks, milk and shortening.

Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.

Bake in waffle iron until done.

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup malted milk powder 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 large egg yolk 1 3/4 cups buttermilk 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 2 large egg whites 2 tablespoons granulated sugar confectioner's sugar (optional) 1. Preheat waffle iron. Preheat oven to 200 degrees f 2. In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, malted-milk powder, baking soda and salt. 3. In medium bowl, whisk egg yolk, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Whisk into dry ingredients until just moist. 4. In a clean bowl, beat egg whiteswith an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
