Breakfastandbrunches - Syrup Apple Spice

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 T. cornstarch
1/4 t. ground allspice
1/8 t. ground nutmeg
1-3/4 cups apple juice or cider

In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, cornstarch, allspice and nutmeg; mix well.

Add juice or cider.

Cook and stir over medium heat until syrup is bubbly and slightly thickened.

Yield: 1-3/4 cups

3 c. chokecherry juice 6 1/2 c. sugar 1 bottle liquid fruit pectin 1/4 tsp. almond extract ( opt.) Pour juice into large kettle. Add sugar and stir to mix. Add corn syrup and juice, cooking over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Serve hot over waffles or pancakes. Note: Can be refrigerated in covered container for several days and warmed in microwave. Yields: 2 cups Orange Syrup 3/4 cup frozen orange
