Breakfastandbrunches - Quiche - Crab Quiche

1 cup white crab meat
1 cup grated Swiss cheese
5 large eggs
1-1/2 cups milk or half & half
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 8" unbaked pie shell
salt and pepper to taste


Saute mushrooms. Sprinkle cheese into pie shell. Beat eggs with milk and seasonings, pour over cheese. Sprinkle crab and mushrooms over pie. Bake at 370 degrees for 35 min. or until firm in the middle.

6 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces, fried crisp 1/2 cup Gruyere*, packed tight (not the processed stuff that comes in wedges...go for the real thing, but if you can't find it, substitute a good aged Swiss or Emmenthaler) 1 1/2 cups half & half** 4 eggs Spray or grease a ceramic pie plate. Spread the cooked bacon on the bottom of the pie plate. Sprinkle the cheese over the bacon. Put the half & half and eggs into a medium-size bowl and beat with a whisk until well-combined. Pour gently over the bacon and cheese. Bake in preheated 350F oven

1 frozen pie shell (thawed) grated Swiss cheese 1 pound backfin crab meat salt and pepper seafood seasoning (to taste) 1 pint whipping cream 4 eggs Sprinkle lots of grated Swiss cheese on bottom of pie shell. Mix crab meat, salt, pepper and seafood seasoning together and pour on top of cheese. In a jar, add 1 pint whipping cream and 4 eggs. Shake until well blended and pour on top of other ingredients in pie shell. Do not use a mixer for blending. Cook 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve hot!
